London is renowned for the plethora of choices when you have that Chinese / Cantonese food craving.
So the story goes as follows: I spent the day in London-town with my sister when the standard conversation started. 'What are we having for dinner?' 'Gold Mine would never have a table so last minute' but our fortune was golden and a table we found indeed.
The staff are always in a hurry at Gold Mine but that's not a bad thing. You get your food quickly and efficiently (might be a good idea to check out the menu from before).
We had a lot of classics and I recommend all of them:
- Prawn crackers - no Chinese dinner is complete without them
- Vegetable spring rolls (photo on the right) - veggie crunchiness
- Aromatic crispy duck - served with freshly cut cucumbers, spring onions, pancakes and hoisin sauce
- Sweet and sour chicken (photo above) - lots of s&s sauce
- Egg fried rice - to clean our palate from the fried-everything
+ two beers
This was more than enough food for the two of us and the bill was around £30 per person.
The End
